Dutch CHI 2020: Paper Presentation

Juni 2020 Zoom

"CHI, the ACM Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems, is the premier international conference of Human-Computer Interaction. Due to the cancellation of CHI, we want to create a venue to present Dutch contributions at CHI. With 25+ full papers, many late breaking work as well as a number of courses, workshops and panels, the Dutch HCI researchers have been contributing significantly to CHI 2020 this year.

Through short paper presentations and panel discussions with international experts in the respective field, we aim to increase the visibility of the Dutch HCI research and enable authors to receive valuable feedback on their work they would miss without CHI. "

International week Hochschule der Medien: Teaching datavisualization

November 2019 in Stuttgart

The International Day is the highlight of the HdM International Week. The HdM Study Abroad Fair will take place in the main entrance lobby from 10 am onwards showcasing the HdM partner university portfolio. Incoming exchange students will introduce their home universities to HdM students and staff, and we also have several collaboration partners joining us for this informative and fun day.
Simultaneously to the fair, we run partner institution presentations by visiting staff and exchange students in the two lecture theatres located next to the Study Abroad Fair. We look forward to colleagues and visiting students promoting their universities to HdM students thinking about studying abroad!

Business meets Design: Design inspired by nature

November 2019 in Kerkrade

This year the fourth annual Business Meets Design conference takes place as part of the NATURE exhibition in Cube design museum. ‘Nature, collaborations in design‘ has been co-organized with Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum, in New York.

During this conference, experts from different European countries will show the audience: results, ambitions and dreams of designers who see nature as a source of inspiration and supplier of valuable new materials.

In addition, the conference is part of the IMPACT! Program, an Euregional program that aims to bridge the gap between designers, education and entrepreneurs. This is co-organized with the four Brightlands Innovation Campuses in Limburg and the designpartners in the Euregio.

During this year’s two-day program (6 & 7 November) we will show the impact of design in four major areas: materials, food, mobility and energy. Concrete tangible solutions for large and small companies will be presented as well as initiatives launched by companies, start-ups and designers.

Furthermore, we will dive into a number of exciting experiments that young designers are currently working on. By giving examples and telling stories we not only want to start discussions during those two days, but we also want to inspire every visitor (and participant) by case studies which he/she can apply to his/her own organization.

PAS Festival: Bridging the Gap between Data and Humans

This Event is canceled due to corona
